Teresita Silguero is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate that joined our team in January 2022. 
She is licensed to practice provisionally in Texas and is under the supervision of Dr. Elizabeth Tamez, PsyD, LPC-S. Teresita, a Brownsville native, provides therapy services in English and Spanish. 
Teresita earned her Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) in 2019. She worked for shelters that serve immigrant children before venturing into private practice. Furthermore, she is passionate about growing as a professional and has completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 
Teresita is currently specializing in helping clients experiencing complex trauma, depression, and anxiety symptoms. Her experience includes working with clients that present the following problems: men's issues, grief, LGBTQ issues, anger management, bullying, bipolar disorder, coping skills, conflict resolution, resiliency development, self-esteem, suicide, and relationship issues. She is characterized for developing a strong therapeutic alliance and demonstrating genuine interest and care for her clients. Her focus is predominantly working with pre-adolescents, adolescents, and adults, and offers individual counseling services to private pay clients. At this time, she does not offer couples or family therapy but hopefully, as she grows in the profession she will be able to expand her services.
