Lonnie Tamez

Lonnie Tamez was a former Sam's Club operations manager employed from 1988 to 2004. His management focus was marketing and high volume sales. Lonnie Tamez and the Brownsville Tx. Sam’s Club was recognized on a National level for the 2nd highest volume sales in selling extended insurance product warranty plans. This 2nd place ranking was throughout the entire company including internationally. This recognition was presented in 2003 at the Walmart/Sam's Club annual shareholders meeting in Atlanta GA. The following year in 2004 Lonnie decided to venture into entrepreneurship and start a private independent insurance agency. His primary insurance sales focused in property and casualty insurance. Today he still operates his independent agency and maintains his current insurance book of business while helping his wife Dr. Elizabeth G Tamez with the daily operations and logistics at Brownsville Psychological Center. We are extremely happy to have him on our team with his extensive sales and management experience.

Bio: Diana is a Master’s student in Clinical Psychology. She currently assists in psychological evaluations and hopes to become a licensed psychological associate (LPA) after graduating.

Desiree provides comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations, covering a range of concerns from mood and personality disorders to intelligence and academic testing. Her goal is to help individuals gain clarity on their strengths and challenges, guiding them toward the right support and interventions. She emphasizes clear, practical insights that empower clients to take meaningful steps forward.
In addition to assessments, she offers counseling services. She has completed basic training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and utilizes solution-focused interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, and mindfulness strategies. Her goal is to provide clients with effective, evidence-based tools they can apply immediately to improve their daily lives.

I have worked in the mental health field for over 5 years starting as a behavioral health tech in the United States Army. I then worked at a non-profit for veterans providing group services. I currently provide counseling and therapy services for pre-teens to adults. I love working with any kind of person no matter who they may be. I can help address a variety of needs in life to better oneself and reach your goals.
I specialize in veteran issues and young adult issues including trauma, anxiety, and depression.
